Beauty Must Have of the Week: Moisturiser
Barely a day goes by, when I'm not moaning about my oily skin. It's almost as if my brain has just become programmed with the data that tells it to moan about it, as much as physically possible, as if moaning will somehow fix it. But, for the record, moaning, no matter how much you do it, never solved anything.
My belief was, that because my skin was already thick with oil, placing more into it would just clog up the pores, creating break outs, and leaving an even bigger oil slick on my face. But, apparently this isn't entirely accurate!
Moisturising is crucial, no matter what your skin is like, whether it is dry, oily or combination, because the cream is full of vitamins and nutrients that our skin needs in order to glow, and to stay completely nourished. This is important, because modern life is just a nightmare for our skin, as it strips away the goodness that our body naturally produces.
However, it is also important to make sure that you only use a moisturiser that has been designed for your skin type. It doesn't matter if you prefer a cream, liquid, gel etc, as long as it suits your skins needs.
For dry skin, you'll want something that adds moisture, however, for oily skin, you'll be looking for a product that nourishes your skin, but regulates the amount of sebum that your skin releases, at the same time, in order to help combat that awful shine on the skins surface. In this case, you are most likely going to be looking for a moisturiser that is not oil based.
Just remember that a little goes a long way, when it comes to moisturiser, and try to use your products first thing in the morning, before y ou head out to face the world, and last thing at night, allowing your skin to get it's nourishment whilst you are sleeping.
